On any given day, Miami has bright sunshine, hot weather and people everywhere.
If you start looking, you'll find countless spots to have your photo shoot and chances are it will turn out incredible. Think of South Beach, Biscayne Bay and the gorgeous Miami skyline. I even found a giant pink wall on Brickell Avenue for Instagram shots yesterday!
I am fairly new to this modeling business - and have learned quickly that the more photos you take and keep in your arsenal, the better (and with a HD camera, of course). I like natural light - I feel better, (feel that I look better) and that it's flattering to any type of makeup application I am wearing.
However, for the last week, we've had subtropical storm Alberto affect us. It's been raining non-stop. What's a model to do when you should be updating your Instagram feed daily? It's work. It's pressure. Luckily, I was armed with a few photo shoots I had done on sunny days. Because my work is primarily in the Luxury Lifestyle (yachting, boating and beach areas), I depend on the weather for my work. The last week has not been easy.
On the other hand, when you live in the tropics (where the weather can change suddenly) you must take advantage of good weather if you are an aspiring or established model.
Getting ready for a photo shoot requires planning. Plan your swimsuit, beachwear, outfit and accessories. Then, plan your makeup look and your hairstyle. I often visit fashion websites in order to stay on top of trends.
Anyway, as the skies turn gray as I write this, I wanted to share some of my fashion inspirations with you today. What are yours? I'm becoming less afraid of wearing bright colors. This week, I was featured on Voda Swim's Instagram page! Very exciting for a rainy week!
My advice: stop being safe with your wardrobe and wear what you absolutely love. What have you found lately that would look great in your next photo shoot? Comment below, I look forward to it.
